Big losses

February 5th, 2008 at 08:03 pm

my new $300 Cell phone lost Frown 2 year contract just began.

DH wisdom tooth removed - $308
He has to wait until June to be put on my dental plan.

Teeth are just one of those things you have to take care of no matter what.

I am quite upset about the cell phone.
I had it in one store when going to the register, by the time I was in the second store I no longer had it. We went back, of course, but their camera only covered the register so nothing could be done. ;(((

How many times do I have to make my own coffee to make up for that one? this is depressing.

Would a combination of your homeowner's and credit card insurance policies cover the loss of your cell phone? Some credit cards cover losses if they occur within 90 days of a purchase, but I believe those policies are secondary to home or renters insurance. Nonetheless, it might make up for the deductible.

Sorry about your phone. Assuming you need to replace it, check your carrier's website. I know AT&T sells refurbs with great prices. My cousin just got one 2 weeks ago for $9.99 (with a new contract). You can save 40-50% buying a refurb. You can probably get a replacement for about $50 (I would never spend $300 on a phone but that's just me).

That's really terrible. I lost my cell phone at an airport once when I dropped my purse. I had to buy one when I got to my destination so I could work that week. When I got back to the departing airport they had my cell phone, I went to retrieve it and my husband parked our car in a restricted area, by the time I got back to the car, it was on a tow truck and there was security all around it .... adding insult to injury and the fines were enormous. There was a $3.00 parking area just a few feet away that was legal parking ... hubby didn't get much conversation on the way home from the airport.
