Who is still doing June expenses tracking?

June 19th, 2008 at 08:42 pm

I am still doing it - and it is not pretty!
June seems to be a more expensive month than average(maybe because I am tracking?), and seeing it expressed in numbers is hard. And I am only 2/3 of the month in.
I gave myself what I though was a very reasonable budget with a lot of allowances and space. Turns out it was more of a "wishful thinking" budget.

I track cash daily, credit card purchases downloaded weekly and sort everything according to budget categories.
I'll have to adjust it next month to reflect reality, and I have to try much harder. I will keep doing this until my projected budget and my actual one actually match!!!!
And I will post it at the end of the month no matter how badly I did.

I started out doing so, but then took a trip out west to visit my mother. I used one of my checking accounts and put money in it; that was what I used for my trip expenses and shopping.

I will restart in July using Grandpa Terry's (Budget Stretcher Premium) spreadsheet.

I am still tracking - by weekly subtotals. I declared it "frugal" after looking at the first two weeks. Now I have a non-rent paying tenant (who as of today owes me $2,980) so I am preserving what I have (but I spent overboard today on groceries). I will posting the uglies right there with you on the 30th.

I am -- but I have been tracking for quite a few years now. By the way, my projected budgets hardly ever matched my monthly spending! But my averages have been pretty consistent.

I have been tracking our spending everyday for over 2 years now. First couple of months was really hard but it now became a habit, first thing I do now when I put on my computer is to write down my spending on my excel spreadsheets. My budgets for individual items never match to the cents but the overall budget seems to always work out esp if you look at the big picture (yearly budget).
