Of course it is in contract! what was I hoping for! :(

I saw this place and I could not believe it. I never saw a deal this good.

It had a yard!
I guarantee you, the square footage included the yard, so it is probably only 650sf internal, but still for that price with the yard and a kitchen area that big... it was the hottest deal I've ever seen in Manhattan.

So I emailed the realtor asking to see it 2 days ago and was imagining myself there ever since. Today, after still not hearing anything back I called the realtor and found out it is in contract. (he did not bother to even send a one-liner in response to my inquiry).

So I feel disappointed again. Any time I see anything nice it is instantly in contract and I feel like never even having a shot.

Where is that recession everyone is talking about?

    ok i looked at that place and it is pretty fabulous. that is disappointing.

    That is a very low price for Manhattan which is probably why it sold so quickly. What a shame. It is a darling apartment and with a yard it's a rare find.

    I cannot believe these realtors who never even bother to respond... not very professional. If he were smart, he would have responded and then started to look for similar places to show you.

    I am sorry you were disappointed...it looked really nice. I had no idea things were moving so fast. My fingers are crossed that you find something soon!

    aww what a disappointment. i had a similar experience, the first house DF and I found that we LOVED, was a 4 bedroom home on 1500m2 block. i dawdled around before ringing, because we hadnt really decided to buy a home yet, we were in the early stages of looking still. and yeah, once i did call, she called me back to tell me it was in contract. Frown so i know how you feel! atleast she called me though!

    Maybe it will fall through? That is what happened with our house 21 years ago. We found the one we wanted, but it too was under contract. I was so disappointed, but our realtor called a few weeks later and asked if we still wanted it. We still live here. Call them back!

    Very cool apartment - I would be a nervous wreck though having a nursery on that bottom floor without a different kind of back door though!

    I don't blame the realtor. You have to imagine he had hundreds on inquiries at that price!

    What a bummer though.
