Another * Would you do it??? * post.

July 2nd, 2009 at 03:14 pm

I'll be in Macao, so I would have an opportunity to... jump of the Macao tower. It is in a Guiness book of records at the highest bungee jump.

Ever thought of stepping off the 61st floor?

btw, it cost close to $270 for the jump plus the DVD and the photo (If I jump, I am definitely getting the DVD).

Is it worth it?

IF it is a once in a lifetime opportunity and you are brave enough, I'd say DO IT. You'll get a thrill to last a lifetime and a DVD to show future generations!

Can you think of reasons you would regret it? If so, you probably should do it.

I'm afraid of heights...so there is no way I would go. I can hardly look at those pictures!

If you can afford it, and you want to, I don't see why not!

For $270 I would not do it, but I also am not into heights. But if I was into that sort of thing I would do it for that price as LONG as I purchased the DVD & picture!!!

I did a small bungee jump once and really didn't like it much, so I think at this point in life I would not do it. But if you would like to try it and your not overly afraid then I say its definately worth it.
It is a once in a lifetime event that few people get to do. I'd love for you to share a picture or two of it when you get back.

I'm with credit card free. You couldn't PAY me enough to do it! (I'd be afraid to die of a heart attack!)

But, I agree with the others> if it's something you like/want to do, and you can afford it...go ahead (and post some pictures!!!)

I wouldn't do it for a million dollars!!

As someone who is afraid of heights, I have done a lot of things to challenge that phobia. But that is way beyond me at this point. I could probably do a much smaller one, but definitely not that. If you feel that you are able to do it though, more power to you. I am just pretty sure that I would literally be screaming through the whole event and they would have to push me off that ledge, lol.

I'm with the other acrophobic sufferers--I don't feel I'd be able to do it (or enjoy it). But as for a luxury, yes, I'd pay $270 for a great experience, as long as my other (more long-term) financial goals didn't suffer. I feed my debt and my savings first, but when there's money left over, I'm not afraid to spend it on pleasures and luxuries.

I'm afraid of heights and did my first ( & maybe last hehe) bungee jump last April.... it was tiny in comparison to your one... it actually looked ok from the ground but when I got up there, I was terrified and didn't think I would be able to do it.... I did...in the end...

You see... I'm stubborn in that I don't like being limited by anything... including my fears sometimes...

Would I do Macau jump ? Emmmm.... maybe.... I know I would probably vomit with anxiety up on the ledge looking down... but it I was in Macau I don't know if I could keep away from the jump... I wouldn't want to think of myself as chickening out - even though no-one is putting any pressure on me to do it apart from myself... weird uh ?

I don't know... I could spend all my time in Macau just looking AWAY from the tower !! hehe

It's really a personal decision for you .... coz you'll be all on your tod up there.... you'll have to weigh up how much control you have over your fear and how much you want to smash that internal barrier...

Oh... and 270 is nothing for such an experience/thrill/confidence boost in my opinion...

It's better than spending it on boozing !!

no. The benefits are not worth it to me.

If it is something you really want to do, and have it in your budget ... hell yeah.

That's about the price of skydiving ... and it's something on my bucket list. So I can say I'd do it.

OMG, no way. I'm TERRIFIED of heights. But I'll see you in the spa (previous post) afterwards.

i'm only against it if you can't afford it - but i know you make room for expenses like this so if you're asking my personal opinion - i would do it. Smile for the adrenaline rush alone it would be worth it!

btw - i'm not that fond of heights either but i don't believe in letting your fears confine you!

umm, i put this in the same category as upside down roller coaster rides and stock car racing, so no, i wouldn't do it myself, but i can see how cool it would be to have that DVD to show off to your grandkids some day.

I wanted to do it when we went to New Zealand few years ago but DH is terrified of heights. It was still a lot of fun watching other people do it, screaming their heads off.
