Fast food - it is the smell

November 23rd, 2007 at 08:30 pm

It was cold, so walked into Blimpies, looked at the menu, but could not get anything and walked out. The "fast food" smell gets to me.

In the past few years I walked into McDonalds and other fast food places several times, but walked out unable to eat. I don't know how the smell of these places have does not bother other people.

I ended up eating in Cosi. Only a little better, but $10 for a sandwich and a drink.
I have to start bringing lunch more.

I have found that since I hardly eat fast food anymore that when I do I get sick. When I do eat out it's always a sub or a nice salad or even fruit. Even Coke, I use to drink it every day and since I have stopped when I do have one I can't even finish it. I had one ysterday and it just was not the same

I agree. I walk past a Mickey D's on my way home. The smell has something chemical and burnt greasy about it that is unappealing. I had my last Big Mac in 2005. Even Subway, supposedly "better" for you, has some of that smell. Less burnt grease smell, more chemical cleaner smell. If I'm traveling, I get off the interstate, and go into town to the grocery store.
