I didn't go on vacation for 1.5 years and won't be able to go any time soon.

But I love thinking about it. I need to think about it, plan it, anticipate it.

I spent every single vacation day attaching it to maternity leave to stay home with my little one. So now I have to earn them from 0.
Last time we were on vacation was when we conceived (9 day ski vacation). So more than a year and a half ago. I had a high-risk pregnancy so I could not go anywhere while pregnant.

We are hoping to go for a week during the next ski season, and for vacation in Asia a YEAR from now (if I can convince my employer to let me go to China for training - that's a big "if".)

That dream of a vacation would be next July, but I am planning and anticipating it already.

I am budgeting for it now too. When you put money away in a specially designated account, it feels a little more real, if feels like it will happen.

    I took three days off to plan for our wedding party (not that you'd really call that time off, at all!), before then my last time off work was two years previous (I took two weeks off when my dad stayed visited us). We are dreaming about possibly visiting family interstate for Christmas, but then that would only be a week, and wouldn't exactly be relaxing or restful as we'd be driving everywhere, rushing to fit in seeing everyone. *sigh* I know how you feel. I have yet to even go overseas...!

    We could not go because of my pregnancy and now we are taking care of a small baby. Once he is older and has easier time travelling, we hope to resume.

    Why couldn't you guys go?

    For a few reasons really. I have alwaysspent a lot of money on live music. Also any time I have save enough for a trip anywhere I always spend it on seeing my dad as I miss him a lot and only get to see him once every year or sometimes only once every two years. And lastly I decided I wanted to buy a house sooner rather than later and so did DH. We wet able to buy one when I turned 21, which in our region isn't an easy feat.
