That was pretty epic!

December 13th, 2012 at 03:40 pm

6 hours of legends, and I knew most of the songs (I did not know I would). That was the mother of all concerts.

Bruce Springsteen is hot. Him and Bon Jovi performing together.... wow!!!

Everyone else was amazing too. The Who, Billy Jowel, Eric Clapton, Chris Martin, Eddi Veder, Roger Waters, Paul McCartney with Nirvana... And they did so many songs(except Nirvana)! It was like most of them gave mini concerts! It just kept going and going!
If I were to go to only one concert in 10 years, that was the one to go to.

Being able to see events like this one reminds you of benefits of being a New Yorker!

It ended at 1:30 (6 hours! wow!) by the time we got home it was like 2:15 (takes time to get out of the Madison Square Garden and get to your car). And asleep after 3. Today look like something the cat dragged out and really wish I could sleep in. But no chance of that, adult life and responsibilities. (those responsibilities is what allowed us to buy $1,000 for tickets in the first place, so I will tough it out today).

I saw it on the news this morning and thought of you! Glad it was as good as they indicated and that you expected.

WOW! I watched on TV up to Billy Joel (missed the opening w/Springsteen). OY I never really was a WHO fan but Pete Townsend (guitarist) was SEXY probably because I like the smart guys. Twitter was snarky about Roger Daltry (lead WHO singer) without shirt buttoned. I didn't care really. The Stones were blech especially next to the WHO. And I hated the rap stuff. He was so non musical next to these guys and girls. Skirt or no skirt. YUCK. We recorded the latter stuff, the Paul McCartney fireworks looked so good!! And even Eric Clapton, WOW I love the blues.

It was amazing on tv. I can only imagine what it must have been like in person! For all we talk about on this site about saving money, being able to spend it on a once-in-a-lifetime thing like this and feel like it was totally worth it is priceless!
