extra income = EXHAUSTION.

Both DH and I were working like crazy this month earning extra income.

I have been working overtime at my job (that is not really to earn extra income, but because I needed to get job done, as another colleague was transferred out). Waking up at 6:30 every day and getting home by 8 is not fun.

DH had finals, and had to write and grade massive pile of finals. (not done yet with that).

We both are just completely exhausted with 5-6 hours of sleep every day this last week and juggling everything. (I only got some sleep this night, on weekdays just not possible).

And this weekend I have 3 social dinners planned. And we will bring our toddler who is going through the "Dinosaur" stage with us to all 3. (That stage involves pretending he is a dinosaur and making scary faces with roaring sounds whenever he gets stressed).

So between DH's teaching job, his travel and my overtime, we made $4,300 in extra income this month. Plus I also earned 2 extra days of vacation time to take later.

Vacation fund is reimbursed now (we had to raid it to pay 2014 taxes). But man, we are working hard for this money.

    The extra income is wonderful but really hoping that you guys get a break soon so you can have some balance and spend quality time with your toddlerSmile

    I completely relate on the exhaustion of working extra hours. Yes the money is nice, but it is hard to still get plenty of sleep, exercise, eat well, and tend to other family members. Hopefully this is temporary and you both can return to normal schedules soon.

    Sorry about the exhaustion, but hang in there...you'll really ENJOY the vacation after all the hard work you've done.

    Wow, is the $4300 for the course work? What does it work out to for DH to make that much extra? I feel exhausted just packing and moving. It's stressful and next to impossible to sleep.

    Yes, it is hard, but extra income is a limited time opportunity, so also hard to pass up as there soon may be no more, who knows... Plus, there are considerations besides money involved.

    LivingLarge, this 4,300 is not what he gets for course work. This is just the May portion of it (2 out of 7 teaching paychecks) plus my overtime for May. DH has a MASSIVELY large class this semester.

    that's a good income for teaching. I can see why it would be hard to pass up. Oh well never an opportunity for us.
